Lorena Micaela Pesantez Rodriguez earned her Master of Social Work and recently joined the Sanar Institute as a Bilingual Resiliency Specialist. Prior to this role, she interned at the institute as a Clinical Resiliency Fellow and also served as an Operations Navigator.
Micaela is Ecuadorian and a recent immigrant to the United States. Her background in medicine and her experience serving underserved communities in the Ecuadorian jungle gave her a unique perspective and inspired her to create spaces where equity, compassionate support, and respect for each individual’s decisions are honored. She brings these values to the therapeutic relationship, along with curiosity, warmth and a deep commitment to being fully present with those she connects.
In her free time, Micaela enjoys slow weekends with her husband and listening to Latin music that brings her joy.
