Yanira Reyes, LMSW is a Bilingual Resiliency Specialist at Sanar Institute. Yanira obtained a bachelors in Psychology at New Jersey City University and a Master of Social Work at Fordham University. Yanira has experience in clinical, community, and educational settings.

Yanira creates a positive, welcoming environment for those who wish to share their stories. In sessions, Yanira listens intently and has a driving force to empathize with those who don’t always receive it. Yanira believes everyone deserves a safe space to express, process, and explore their feelings.

Yanira is passionate about providing accessible mental health education which led her to create a peer support group providing psychoeducation to Hudson County residents. Yanira has direct experience in crisis management. She worked in the Psychiatric Evaluation Screening Services in the emergency department at Clara Maass Hospital. Additionally, Yanira previously worked with families as a Parent Educator. She has experience providing individual and family therapeutic services. She uses various therapeutic modalities in session such as but not limited Motivational Interviewing, CBT, DBT, and Trauma informed care.

Outside of work, Yanira enjoys yoga, traveling, spending time with loved ones, and trying new foods.
